The husband and wife team, of Dublin native Chef; Cathal Armstrong, (Silent T) and his restaurant veteran wife, Meshelle Armstrong have created Restaurant Eve; a passion based on experience and a name lent by their first child.

Located in Old Town, Alexandria this historic warehouse building is now converted into a quaint yet sophisticated 100 seatrestaurant offering two unique dining experiences in separate rooms. “The Chef’s Tasting Room” and “The Bistro.”

The 34 seat destination Tasting Room is Chef Armstrong’s culinary showcase of ‘Modern American Cooking with Classical French Influences’. Here he features 5 and 9 course prix fixe tasting menus, highlighting the freshest of seasonal ingredients and local Virginia produce. Armstrong has a strong commitment to sourcing the best ingredients that local farmers can provide in the pursuit of excellence.

The upscale Bistro appeals to the neighborhood and boasts both flavor and selection with choices such as Bouillabaisse, Braised Shortribs, and Salt Baked Prawns. The beverage selections of ‘Edenesque’ cocktails, hailed ‘Some of the best in the Nation’ are pure innovation by sommelier, partner and general manager, Todd Thrasher. The wine list is unique in selection and was named Food and Wine’s Best New Wine List 2005. Enclosed in glass for the public’s viewing, the bottles are housed in a temperature controlled wine room named ‘Isabel 55’; “This beautiful, old, oak tree blew down in the hurricane near our building and we decided to use it in the construction of the room” states Meshelle Armstrong; who designed the restaurant.

Set in natural and stylish lighting, each room creates it’s own unique mood with an inviting, warm and vibrant interior. Enriching the ambiance, brick fireplaces adorn all rooms in the notable building. Swooping iron and glass skylights encased in rich cherry allow diners to feel the outdoors from their cozy booths and sofa-like banquettes. Gracing the restaurant is the reminiscence of the Garden of Eve sinuous lines, colors of nature, ivy, herbs and an outdoor verandah. Armstrong’s soulful creations are served in this stylish atmosphere, WHERE THE PALATE IS PARAMOUNT™ and the experience truly memorable.

…The Armstrongs.
