PX

Evoking fond memories of the 1920s style speak-easy, with a sophisticated feel and a solitary blue light indicating that it is open, PX Lounge is situated in a historic building with all of the original wood work and glistening chandeliers intact for a truly classic atmosphere. Here, sommelier, liquid savant and all-round master of mixologists Todd Thrasher takes a creative approach to his cocktails which have led to several commendations and awards in the press and media. Specialties of the house include the Sweet Basil, a combination of simple syrup infused with opal basil, Lillet Blanc, a splash of Hendrick's gin, and house made orange water, topped off with fresh basil. PX Lounge is the ideal place to enjoy an evening of glamour and great-tasting concoctions. Eamonn's A Dublin Chipper

Named after the Armstrongs' second born, this authentic Irish chipper is devoted to the Irish ritual of fish and chips plus fun Irish imports from Guinness to sodas, crisps, candies and biscuits. Ask about the famous PX upstairs. Thanks be to Cod.

The notion stems from the first time Cathal introduced me to the Irish ritual of fish and chips. He took me to Leo Burdock’s, a Dublin chipper institu- tion. It was a hole-in-the-wall take-away, but there was a queue out the door and a young Jackeen behind the counter. “Ya wunna salt and vinegar with ya cod and large, missus?”, he said to me in a thick brogue. From that day on, I was hooked, and understood why THIS was the food of the people.” — Meshelle Armstrong
